Claire Chao is a fine art photographer based in Taiwan. Her artistic journey is defined by a profound shift: transitioning from a 14-year rigorous career as a Senior Vice President at HSBC to the stillness of photography in 2013. Combined with her academic foundation from UC Davis, this unique background imbues her work with a distinctive balance between rational structure and emotional flow.
趙湘瑋，台灣影像藝術家。從任職匯豐銀行 (HSBC) 資深副總裁的金融理性中轉身，於 2013 年全心投入攝影藝術的感性探索。結合加州大學戴維斯分校 (UC Davis) 的學術背景，這種生命經驗的轉換，讓她的作品總是在「幾何秩序」與「時間流動」之間，尋求完美的平衡。
The Craft & The Studio / 從藝術家到職人：瑋思影像
Her photography frequently oscillates between order and ambiguity, as seen in series like In Between and Fluid Time. Driven by an uncompromising pursuit of quality and a desire to protect fine art imagery from Taiwan’s challenging humidity, Claire established Metal Print Studio in 2016. As a creator and Master Printer, she applies her exacting artistic eye to the craft, overseeing every step from capture to the final museum-grade ChromaLuxe® metal print.
在《In Between》與《Fluid Time》等系列中，她展現了對結構與光影的獨到見解。為了追求影像在最終呈現上的極致，並對抗台灣極端潮濕氣候對藝術品的侵蝕，她於 2016 年創立了專注於頂級金屬工藝的 瑋思影像 Metal Print Studio。身兼創作者與職人的雙重身分，她以極度嚴苛的眼光監製每一幅作品，堅持將影像封存於經得起歲月考驗的博物館級媒材中。
Current Project / 近期創作計畫
Claire is currently working on "Fleeting Life, A Dream", a series exploring mental landscapes and the silent beauty of existence. The floral artwork seen in the background of her portrait is a proud showcase of her metal print craftsmanship.
目前專注於《浮生若夢 (Fleeting Life, A Dream)》系列創作，持續透過鏡頭探索心靈風景與靜謐的存在美學。照片中背景的花卉作品，正是她引以為傲的金屬影像工藝成果。
